Since 16 September, the drawbridge on the D121 opens only twice a week at 09:00. Lowering begins at 09:20; road and pedestrian traffic stop during the operation.
Mondays and Fridays at 09:00
The Municipality of Tisno has published the winter operating schedule for the movable bridge between the mainland and the island of Murter. From 16 September 2026 through 31 May 2027, the bridge is raised on Mondays and Fridays at 09:00.
The daily summer rhythm therefore no longer applies to skippers. The regular schedule provides no passage on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or weekends.
Lowering begins at 09:20
The official notice gives 09:20 as the start of lowering. That does not mean the roadway is already fully open again at that exact moment.
Nor does 09:00 guarantee passage for every individual boat. The sequence, safety instructions, current and operating conditions on site remain decisive. Anyone arriving at the last minute should allow for waiting and a missed passage.
Road users and pedestrians wait too
Traffic on the D121 is stopped while the bridge is raised and lowered. This affects cars, deliveries, bicycles and pedestrians travelling between Tisno and Murter.
The interruption is part of normal operations, not a permanent closure of the island access. Anyone with a connection, appointment or ferry departure should nevertheless avoid planning their journey down to the minute around the bridge opening.
Murter remains accessible by the same road
The bridge lies on the D121 state road and forms the fixed road connection to the island of Murter. Outside the short opening operation, road and pedestrian traffic use the lowered bridge.
Claims that “Murter is cut off” are therefore misleading unless explicitly limited to the opening window. An unplanned fault or maintenance would be a different situation and would require official confirmation.
In summer the bridge opened twice every day
The previous summer schedule provided daily openings at 09:00 and 18:00 from 1 June to 15 September. Moving to two mornings a week considerably reduces the regular passage windows.
For voyage and journey planning, this seasonal change matters more than the season alone. Old search results or saved summer times should not be carried over into autumn and winter.
What skippers should check before passage
Before approaching, check the latest municipal notice, local harbour information and the weather. Bora, thunderstorms, maintenance or a special operating notice can change the practical situation even while the published basic schedule remains valid.
Prepare fenders and lines, keep the area in front of the bridge clear and follow instructions on site. The published timetable is an operating window, not a reservation for a particular boat.
What is confirmed — and what remains open
The regular opening days of Monday and Friday, lifting at 09:00, the start of lowering at 09:20 and validity through 31 May 2027 are confirmed. The interruption of road and pedestrian traffic during the operation is also confirmed.
A guaranteed passage for every boat, a road closure lasting exactly 20 minutes and full reopening at 09:20 are not confirmed. Exceptional circumstances must be checked at the time.
